At a Glance

- Where
- Your yard, your lot, your shop or your driveway
- Includes
- Brakes, steering, lighting, tires and coupling
- Then
- Repairs the findings in the same visit
The annual inspection is a legal requirement for every commercial vehicle, and it is also the cheapest safety audit a fleet ever buys. Doing it on site removes the part everybody hates, which is sending a unit away and losing it for a day.

The inspection covers brake systems, coupling devices, exhaust, fuel systems, lighting, steering, suspension, frame, tires, wheels, windshield glazing and wipers. Each item either passes or it does not, and the report tells you exactly which. Nothing about that is negotiable, which is the point of it.
The advantage of having the inspector and the mechanic be the same truck is obvious. A worn brake chamber found at nine can be replaced at ten, and the unit is legal by noon rather than parked until a shop has an opening. For small fleets and owner operators that difference is the whole month.
Bring several units together and the visit gets cheaper per truck, because the travel is shared. Fleets with more than a handful of trailers usually schedule these in a block.
What That Covers
- Annual periodic inspection on tractors and trailers
- Performed at your location, not at a shop across town
- Findings explained in plain language, item by item
- Repairs completed on the same visit where possible
- Multiple units in one trip for fleets and owner groups
